Biography

Jason has years of experience in litigating complex cases. He began his career as an insurance defense lawyer and then transitioned to public service where he served as a military prosecutor and defense attorney for over a decade in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps. Jason has tried numerous cases to a jury verdict and has a robust background and experience in trial advocacy. He now specializes in personal injury, medical malpractice, and elevator accident cases on behalf of clients in West Virginia, Virginia and Ohio. Jason has achieved multi-million dollar jury verdicts and has recovered tens of millions of dollars on behalf of his clients. He was the American Bar Association's Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year for 2011 - 2012.

Jason is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. While on active duty from 2005 to 2016, he deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, and various other undisclosed locations in the Middle East as part of a Joint Special Operations Task Force. He served with the historic 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) as well as the famed "Night Stalkers" of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). Jason completed some of the most rigorous and grueling training offered by the U.S. Army, which included: Survival, Evade, Resist, and Escape (S.E.R.E.) training; Green Platoon; DUNKER training; Pathfinder School; Airborne School; Air Assault School; and the Combat Lifesavers Course. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in Iraq. 

Jason is licensed to practice in West Virginia, Virginia and Ohio. He resides in Pearisburg, Virginia with his wife, Catherine, and they have four children, Sydney, William, James, and John Thomas. Jason is a member of the Pearisburg First United Methodist Church and serves in the Virginia House of Delegates.
